Independent Lifestyles provides specialist supported living and care services across Sussex for adults with learning disabilities, autism, acquired brain injury, mental health needs and other complex support needs.
Our Sussex services support people to live as independently, safely and confidently as possible, with care tailored around their individual needs, wishes and goals.

We work closely with each person, and those important to them where appropriate, to develop support plans that reflect their needs, goals, preferences and long-term outcomes. Support may include help with daily living, building independent living skills, accessing structured activities, developing routines and taking part in the local community.
Our experienced support teams focus on helping people build confidence, make choices and live fulfilling, meaningful lives in a way that is right for them.
Achieving positive outcomes
Our outcome-focused approach helps each person work towards meaningful goals in a way that is structured, supportive and achievable. This may include personalised weekly planners, meaningful activities, community involvement and opportunities that support social development, communication, sensory needs, emotional wellbeing and positive behaviour support.
Where the person wishes, we encourage and support regular contact with family members, friends and wider support networks, helping people stay connected to those who matter to them.
Independence through support
The people we support are actively involved in decisions about their care and support wherever possible. Through regular keyworker meetings, support reviews and feedback opportunities, we listen to each person’s views, wishes and goals. This helps ensure their support remains person-centred, responsive and focused on what matters most to them.
Our aim is to provide high-quality, personalised support that promotes independence, choice, dignity and wellbeing.
Local Support, Local Opportunities
Sussex offers a wide range of community, education, leisure and vocational opportunities, from coastal towns and local high streets to colleges, parks, community groups and transport links.
Our teams support people to build confidence in their local area, maintain relationships, access appointments and activities, and take part in everyday community life in a way that is meaningful to them.
Working Together
We work alongside individuals, families, local authorities, commissioners, health professionals and, where appropriate, specialist housing providers to help create stable and person-centred support arrangements.
Our role is to provide the care and support package. Housing and tenancy arrangements are managed separately by the relevant housing provider.
