Independent Lifestyles provides supported living and residential care services across Sussex and Kent for adults with learning disabilities, autism, mental health needs, acquired brain injury and other complex support needs.
Where appropriate, we work alongside specialist housing providers so that people can access suitable supported living accommodation, with care and support delivered by Independent Lifestyles.
Our role is to provide the care and support package. Housing, tenancy and accommodation arrangements are managed separately by the relevant housing provider.

Supporting life skills
Each support arrangement is carefully considered around the person’s needs, preferences and goals, helping to ensure the right level of care can be provided in a safe, comfortable and supportive setting. Independent Lifestyles can provide flexible care and support packages within shared supported living services and specialist residential care placements.
Our focus is on helping people build confidence, develop daily living skills and live as independently as possible.
Building independent lives
Our experienced support teams provide person-centred care and support with everyday life. This may include personal care, medication support, cooking, shopping, household routines, social activities and accessing the local community. We focus on helping people build confidence, develop life skills and take part in opportunities that are meaningful to them.
Our aim is to promote independence, wellbeing, choice and a fulfilling lifestyle for every person we support.
Support with purpose
We work closely with each person, their family where appropriate, local authorities, commissioners and health and social care professionals to provide joined-up, person-centred support. Our aim is to help create stable, positive support arrangements that promote choice, dignity, independence and long-term quality of life.
Across Sussex and Kent, our supported living and residential care services are delivered by compassionate, trained and committed staff who are focused on providing safe, respectful and high-quality support.

Contact our friendly team by telephone, email or through our website enquiry form. We will take some initial details and discuss the person’s support needs, current circumstances and what they are looking for from a future service.
Getting to know you
If we believe we may be able to meet the person’s needs, we will arrange an assessment. This gives us the opportunity to spend time with the individual, their family and any professionals involved in their support.
We want to understand what is important to the person, their goals, preferences, support needs and aspirations for the future.
Exploring the options
Where appropriate, we will arrange visits to a suitable service so the person can see the environment, meet staff and learn more about the support available. This helps everyone decide whether the service feels like the right fit.
Developing a support proposal
Following assessment, we will provide recommendations based on the person’s individual needs and outcomes. Where appropriate, we will work with local authorities, commissioners, family members and other professionals to develop a suitable support package and funding arrangements.
Planning the transition
Once support arrangements have been agreed, we will work closely with everyone involved to plan a smooth transition. Our team will provide guidance and support throughout the process, helping the person settle into their new environment and build positive relationships with those supporting them.
